Pire-e Sorkh, located in the southwestern section of the old city.

Imamzade Mir Hamze, located in the city's old cemetery, south of the Lar canal. It may be attributed to the Safavid period.

Imamzadeh Mir Ali ebn-e hosein , situated at the approach to Qal'e-ye Ezhdeha. The original bulding dates back to 700 years ago and once constituted a core of an old mosque.

Masjed-e Jame' of lar bears close resemblance to ChaharTaq(Sasanian four-arched domed pavilion). Its total exterior is faced with hewn stone. According to an inscription on the mosque's mihrab, which is of particular beauty, the bulding was erected in 1618(1028 AH).

Qal'e-ye Garash, found on top of the mountain near the present town of Garash and may indicate the place of the original settlement.

Qal'e-ye Parvizeh, situated near the village of Uz and was a thriving town as recently as 50 years ago.

The town of Lar owns an international airport ready to welcome tourist throughout the year. It also features a hotel and tourist loading house, good roads, and other basic tourist facilities. The town's historic and natural places of interest, unique handicrafts and souvenirs draw numerous vacationers to the area. Lar is situated 365 km from Shiraz.

Neshat Garden

Nestled among the pretty park to the north of the Abbasi Bridge, there is a former residential place of the Lar governors after the Safavid time. The upper floor of this two-story building is 7 m high and features a veranda 12, 5 m high. There are 14 rooms on the ground floor of the edifice. The central hall is located straight under the veranda and is lightened through an octagonal vent. In the middle of the hall is an octagonal marble pond. I n the northern section of the Neshat Garden is a bathhouse, probably founded at the same period as main building. Two rooms crowned with small cupolas overlook the garden. Beautiful painting s cover their inner walls and one of the rooms also features spiral columns.

Qeysariyeh Bazaar is an important historical structure of the Fars province, remarkable for its special architectural style and techniques. It is known that the famous Vakil Bazaar in Shiraz has borrowed its design with the only difference that it was built of brick, while the marketplace in Lar was built of hewn stone. The Qeysariyeh Bazaar consists of four intersecting trade rows, each featuring 24 shops. Each shop possesses a front terrace and its entrance is 3 m wide. At the crossing point of the bazaar's four point of the bazaar's rows is an octagonal superstructure measuring 13,5 x 13,5 m and topped with a cupola about 18 m high .it features a stone inscription in low relief engraved in Nastaliq script. It also possesses a wind-catching tower, which conducted breeze to the bazaar's chambers. A number of Safavid-period caravanserais can be found in the bazaar's vicinity.

The Abbasi Bridge & Other Bridge

The Abbasi Bridge spans the Shur(salty) River in its eastern section. The structure has undergone numerous amendments in different historical periods. The bridge must have featured seven piers strengthened on either side with semi-circular break water

Mausoleum of Nader Shah's Mother & Qal'e-ye Ezhdeha Peykar

Mausoleum of Nader Shah's Mother. Thought his ascription is hardly more than a local tradition, is located to the east from Qal'e-ye Ezhdeha. The square exterior walls of the bulding measure 4, 5 x 4, 5 m . Being built on high hill, the edifice can be seen even from almost any nearby location.

Qal'e-ye Ezhdeha Peykar is a prehistoric castle situated on top of the mountain west of Lar. Somehow resembeling a dragon(Ezhdeha), it became known under this name. in the vicinity of the principal building, numerous annexed structures, can be found. Among them a cellar, a mosque, a bathhouse, a mausoleum, a water tower, a well, and a water-wheel are still traceable.

Reservoir

Numerous water storehouse are scattered all over Lar. They are mainly covered with a
cupola and are remarkably deep. Water is gathered in these water storehouse in
winters, to provide the locals with the necessary water supply in summer and autumn
months .

Dahan-e Shir Water Storehouse is one of the oldest and most attractive bulldings of
Lar. The squat room, found at the entrance to the bazzar, possesses a staircase 3,
20 m wide and descending 12, 8 m. the edifice date back to the Safavid period.

Located in the south of the Fars province, Lar is one of the Iran's oldest cities. It achieved it's utmost importance under the Safavid monarchs when it was one of the most important centers on the trade route to Bandar-e Abbas.

Lar was originally called Lad, named after its founder, a son of an old king of pars.
